[STYLE=width:95%; background-color:#F0F0D8; opacity:0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); height:200px; overflow:auto; font-size:11px; font-family:calibri; color:#707070; text-align:justify; padding: 8px] you're 18 or older and the operation is done therefore you are cured. now, the operation might have worked or it might have not. the staff has a random generator that will give us a yes or no on whether the operation worked or not. if it didn't, you're still capable of feeling deep emotions and it's up to you to keep it a secret so you don't find yourself in the crypts. either way, if you were healthy in your teens you could opt for telling the authorities that it didn't work at the risk of being seen as an outlaw. however, getting the operation too many times could mess with your brain and drive you insane. but if the procedure did work the first time, then you've become the equivalent of a robot. you go through life blissfully ignorant of everything around you. there are chances that the procedure could wear off but that could only be if you're constantly surrounded by rebellious characters or if you have some sort of accident. if the procedure worked and you are cured, it's your job to get involved with the community and try to help out the regulators by leaving tips at the portland news. you could also join the dfa (delira free america) and help promote the cure. if it didn't work you have the option of becoming a sympathizer. this means someone who does illegal things. you can be considered a sympathizer by helping out young couples and/or by becoming a part of the resistance. [STYLE=width:95%; background-color:#F0F0D8; opacity:0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); height:200px; overflow:auto; font-size:11px; font-family:calibri; color:#707070; text-align:justify; padding: 8px] invalids typically live in the wilds but some of them are bold enough to come into portland ilegally under the care of a resistance member or a sympathizer. some are a part of the resistance as well and will help out from the outside. some of them will be living in incredibly poor conditions out in the wilds. a child born out of wedlock could be left out in the wilds in a community of invalids. people who manage to escape the crypts could be invalids. teens who are madly in love could climb the fence to escape portland and find themselves as invalids, out in the wilds. most invalids are very resourceful beings. they never waste anything and have a strong sense of loyalty towards each other. however, they are constantly at risk. if they were found out by society they would be instantly executed or at least thrown into the crypts for life. they are the main targets of the government's random bombing and raids. to be an invalid is to constantly be in danger but most agree that it's worth it to have the freedom. most invalids are very accepting and loving but they've been through a lot and have been hardened by their experiences. nobody in the city really knows whether they're real or not because the government tries to conceal their existence. [STYLE=width:95%; background-color:#F0F0D8; opacity:0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); height:200px; overflow:auto; font-size:11px; font-family:calibri; color:#707070; text-align:justify; padding: 8px] the regulators are in charge of making sure that everything runs smoothly in the city. they're the ones who organize raids and encourage citizens to leave tips for them to follow. they're very serious and while most of them are only concerned with doing their job, there are some who are in it for the violence. it is a known fact that the cure could alter personalities, making them prone to violent acts. if that's what happened to you then maybe you decided to become a regulator. there are also regulators who are actually sympathizers or invalids and are trying to gain control of things from the inside. depending on their rank, regulators could also be guards in the crypts or in charge of watching over the electrically charged fence to make sure nobody attempts an escape. regulators can also be a part of the dfa if they wish. they have the power to send people to the crypts if it's discovered that they are a sympathizer. they also have the power of forcing minors to receive the procedure early, even if it risks their health. if someone has a thread in a public place, those who play regulators are allowed to post in them if someone if breaking the rules and decide on the proper punishment for that individual. if your character needs to be changed into a different group at some point, pm this account and let me know! |
